In a shocking incident in western India’s Maharashtra, a speeding vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run collision with a two-wheeler.

The accident occurred in the Pimple Gurav area of Pimpri-Chinchwad city on August 7.

Visuals captured the vehicle dragging the two-wheeler along the road, with the driver failing to stop despite the horrific scene. Eyewitnesses were horrified as the driver, allegedly intoxicated, sped away while the biker remained entangled with the vehicle. The onlookers’ attempts to get the driver to stop were unsuccessful.

According to reports, Sharad Kisan Surawase (26) and Mantesh Lingappa Chignur, both residents of Pimple Gurav, were injured in the incident. Surawase reported the collision to Sangvi Police Station, which led to a case being filed against Dattu Rambhau Lokhande (39), also from Pimple Gurav.

Allegedly, police disclosed that Lokhande, while driving a Mahindra Scorpio under the influence of alcohol, struck the two-wheeler near Tulja Bhavan Temple. Following the collision, Lokhande continued to drag the two-wheeler and its riders for several meters. Sharad was injured, and Mantesh suffered serious injuries; both are currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Pimple Gurav. The Sangvi Police are actively investigating the incident.
