Horrific! Car catches fire at intersection, three escape unharmed in northern India

In a dramatic incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a moving car caught fire, causing panic and chaos amongst locals.

The incident took place  at IGP intersection in Lucknow on August 10.

Visuals showed the car engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke billowing into the sky. Fire officials were seen spraying water from a distance to control the blaze, while traffic was redirected, and onlookers appeared distressed and shocked by the scene.

According to reports, the fire brigade arrived promptly after being informed and worked to extinguish the fire. Despite the presence of traffic police, the road remained blocked, adding to the chaos.

Reportedly, the car driver, Dharmendra, stated that the vehicle was booked from Baba Hospital on Deva Road, and he was transporting a couple from Hazratganj to their home. The woman passenger, possibly pregnant, had urged him to drive slowly. Dharmendra, who was driving at a speed of 20 to 30 km/h, said that the slow speed prevented a major accident. He noticed smoke rising and suspected a short circuit. If the vehicle had been moving faster, a sudden blast could have occurred.

Dharmendra also stated that his car had no prior issues. The vehicle was in good condition, with all papers and fitness checks up to date, leaving him puzzled about the sudden fire.
