The incident took place in the Mian Colony of the Thana Majhola area of Moradabad district, Uttar Pradesh on December 1.

According to reports, wrestling, often accompanied by high-stakes betting, is a popular yet controversial activity in this locality. The injured youth, identified as Qasim, had come to participate in one of these matches. According to witnesses, the incident occurred when his opponent applied excessive force, causing Qasim’s arm to break with a loud snap. The unexpected injury led to chaos among the spectators. The situation was resolved outside the purview of legal authorities. Both parties reportedly agreed on a settlement amounting to ₹60,000, (USD 708.13) avoiding any formal complaint or legal proceedings.
