Heroic rescue! NDRF rescues man stuck in flooded river in western India

In a dramatic rescue in western India’s Gujarat, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) successfully saved a man trapped in a flooded river.

The incident took place at Auranga River, Khanjan Palia area of Valsad district on August 25.

Visuals showed an old man clinging to tree branches as the NDRF team approached on a lifeboat. Rescue personnel acted swiftly, maneuvering the lifeboat close to the stranded individual. One of the rescuers threw a rope to the man, helping him board the lifeboat. Once onboard, the man was provided with a life jacket, while the rescuers reassured him of his safety.

Speaking to Newslions, NDRF official Mr. Anupam from Gujarat confirmed that two individuals were rescued in the area, including Dinu Bhai Patel, age 65, and Shailesh Bhai, age 45. The rescue was completed at around 6 PM.

 

According to reports, Gujarat has been experiencing heavy rainfall recently, prompting red alerts in two districts. Hundreds of residents in Valsad and Navsari have been relocated to safety as the rains continue to impact southern Gujarat.
