Heroic rescue at railway station as RPF saves man from moving train in West Bengal

In a heroic incident at a railway platform in eastern India’s West Bengal, Railway Police personnel saved a man who was slipping between the platform and a moving train.

The incident took place at Bardhaman Railway Station of Bardhaman district on October 28.

Visuals showed the alarming moment when the man lost his balance and fell, almost being dragged under the train. Fortunately, a brave female Railway Protection Force (RPF) officer, Nibha Kumari, spotted the incident and rushed to pull him out just in time. The scene was tense as onlookers watched, relieved at the quick response that averted a potential tragedy.

According to reports,  around 3:54 AM as the Ganga Sagar Express arrived on Platform No. 5, Nibha Kumari and her colleague, Yogesh Kumar, were assigned to passenger security duties when the incident unfolded. The man, identified as Shailendra Choudhary (58) from Madhubani, Bihar, sustained only minor injuries to his legs and declined medical assistance when offered.
