In a courageous incident in southern India’s Telangana, two police constables braved rapid floodwaters to rescue a man from drowning in an overflowing stream.

The incident took place in Nagarkurnool district and the video went viral on September 1.

Visuals showed the man struggling to stay afloat in the overflowing stream as the rising floodwaters threatened to wash him away. A police team quickly noticed the man’s peril and immediately sprang into action to rescue him. Risking their lives, the two constables held their hands together to maintain balance and moved slowly towards the man.

According to reports, the constables’ quick response saved the man’s life, preventing what could have been a tragic incident.

The daring rescue has been widely praised, with Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender and the Superintendent of Police congratulating the constables for their prompt action.
