Heroic Officer’s quick action saves seizure victim’s life in road accident
In a remarkable display of bravery and quick thinking, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dr. Sandeep Bhajibhakare of Pune City Police saved a young man’s life after he suffered a seizure following an accident.
The incident took place at Jagtap Chowk in the Wanawadi area of Pune district, Maharashtra, on December 24.
The visual shows a crowd gathered on the road as a police officer tended to the injured man experiencing a seizure. The officer carefully supported the victim’s head with his hands and rubbed his chest, helping him gradually regain composure.
According to reports, the accident occurred when a car collided with a two-wheeler, causing the rider to fall and suffer a seizure. Coincidentally, DCP Bhajibhakare was passing through the area and immediately stepped in to provide critical first aid, leveraging his medical knowledge to stabilize the victim until further medical assistance arrived. Additionally, he attended to a woman injured in the same accident, administering first aid for her bleeding wounds.
Dr. Bhajibhakare’s swift and selfless actions earned widespread admiration from witnesses, who lauded his commitment and presence of mind. Reflecting on the event, Dr. Bhajibhakare said, “Helping accident victims is an essential part of our duty as police officers. I encourage citizens to step forward and assist accident victims because timely help can save lives.”
