Update: Heroic! Man rescued by NDRF after getting stuck in flooded river in western India
In a dramatic rescue operation in western India’s Gujarat, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) saved a man who was stuck in a flooded river.
The incident took place at the Auranga River, located in the Khanjan Palia area of the Valsad district on August 25.
A video of the rescue went viral, showing the man clinging to tree branches as the NDRF team approached him in a boat. The team threw a rope at the man and successfully pulled him into the boat.
According to reports, Gujarat has been experiencing heavy rainfall over the past few days. A red alert was issued in two districts on Sunday and Monday. Several hundred people were evacuated to safety in Valsad and Navsari districts as heavy rains battered southern Gujarat.
