Heavy rains cause landslides in northern India, submerging cars in debris
Cars have submerged in northern India’s Himachal Pradesh due to landslides that have occurred due to heavy rainfall.
The incident took place in Shimla on June 28.
Visuals showed the aftermath of a landslide caused by heavy rains in northern India. Locals are engaged in efforts to get the cars out trapped in the debris. The scene shows individuals working amidst mud and rocks, with vehicles partially buried.
According to officials, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an ‘orange’ alert for rainfall in five districts, Solan, Shimla, Sirmaur, Mandi, and Bilaspur, of Himachal Pradesh till June 30, while issuing a yellow alert for the remaining districts of the state during the same period.
