Heavy rainfall leads to severe flooding in eastern India, roads submerged

Following torrential rains, roads are inundated with water, creating flood-like conditions and causing significant disruption in eastern India’s West Bengal.

The incident took place at Teesta Bazar in the Kalimpong district on June 13.

Visuals showed in a residential area, heavy rainwater had accumulated to such an extent that items kept outside homes were seen floating. The water covered the streets and lawns, turning the neighborhood into a temporary flood zone.

In the wake of incessant rainfall, the water level at Teesta Bazar has risen significantly, submerging the road. The situation has led to the closure of the Darjeeling road via Teesta Bazar, causing major disruptions in transportation.
