Heated brawl breaks out in school after female teacher accuses male teacher of sexual offence in central India

An ugly brawl broke out on the campus of a school after a female teacher accused a male teacher of secretly filming her while she went to the washroom in central India’s Madhya Pradesh.

The incident took place at a middle school in Adupura, Gwalior district, on September 23.

Visuals showed both teachers hitting each other with slippers, while the male teacher kept saying, “Why did she hit me first?” People nearby tried to intervene.

According to reports, the primary and middle schools share the same premises, where Vidya Ratudi teaches at the primary level and Shishupal Singh Jadaun at the middle level. The two have been in conflict for several days.

Parents arrived at the school after discovering that teachers often arrived late and started recording videos to check their attendance. While this was happening, Vidya entered a classroom, leading Rajeev Gautam, the in-charge, to mistakenly think she had called the parents. This upset Shishupal, who then pushed Vidya, almost causing her to fall. When she protested, he began hitting her with sandals and slapping her.

As the situation escalated, witnesses stepped in. Vidya took off her sandal and retaliated against Shishupal, grabbing him by the collar and slapping him. A parent captured the incident live on social media.

Vidya expressed, “I am being harassed at school. Students have told us that male teachers film us when we go to the washroom. They react angrily if we are late and humiliate us in front of students. Some teachers are being targeted.”

Efforts to contact Shishupal Singh Jadaun for a statement were unsuccessful; he ended the call, citing guests at home, and later turned off his phone.

Local police reported that both parties have filed complaints. The male teacher alleged that the female teacher is often late. Since this is an educational issue, the complaints were forwarded to the education department for further investigation.
