Heartwarming! Youth performs CPR on seemingly dead snake in western India
In a remarkable incident in western India’s Gujarat, a young man revived what appeared to be a lifeless snake by administering mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
The incident took place near Vrundavan Char Rasta in Vadodara district and the video went viral on October 17.
Visuals showed a youth carefully picking up the snake and giving it CPR, demonstrating his determination to bring it back to life. Within moments, the snake began to move, indicating its revival.
According to reports, rescuers were alerted immediately, and Yash Tadvi, a trained rescuer, rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, he discovered the snake seemingly lifeless but promptly began performing CPR. Remarkably, he succeeded in reviving the snake, showcasing his quick thinking and skill.
Rescuer Yash Tadvi shared, “As soon as I received the call, I went there immediately. The snake appeared dead, but when I held it, I sensed it was still alive. I then started performing CPR. I felt immense relief and happiness when the snake revived, and I safely handed it over to the forest department.”
He explained that these snakes are typically found in rivers, lakes, and ponds, preferring to stay above ground only at night. Although non-venomous, they can be irritable and aggressive, warranting caution during encounters.
Range Forest Officer Karan Singh Rajput commented, “We are providing training on how to catch snakes. Administering CPR in such cases can be dangerous, but it seems CPR was performed because the snake was non-venomous and the rescuer had adequate knowledge. We will investigate the matter further.”
