A swarm of over 900 baby alligators hatch in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.
This incident took place near Chambal river along Bah range in Agra on June 9.
Visuals depict a heartwarming scene as more than 900 baby alligators were hatching from eggs in Asia’s largest alligator sanctuary. The newborn alligators were moving towards the Chambal river from the sanctuary.
According to reports, the officials of the sanctuary rushed to the site once they heard the sounds of the eggs cracking. The hatching is taking place under close watch of the officials. The officials stated that the eggs hatched once the female alligator scraped the sand.
Reports from the sanctuary reveal that natural hatching has been taking place in Chambal river since the last 14 years. Hatching takes place during the months of March to April. A series of continuous efforts are being made by the forest department to preserve this species in the region.
According to the forest officials, the hatching of the eggs will last over a week after which they will nest in ghats of Mahuasala, Nandgawan Hathkant.
