A man dressed in yellow threw chilli powder at the groom’s family members. A chaotic situation ensued as the bride screamed while her family members dragged her across the ground in a bid to take her away.
According to a report, the bride Gangavaram Sneha had met her husband Battina Venkatanandu while studying for veterinary sciences at a college located in the Narasaraopet district of Andhra Pradesh. After falling in love, they married at the Durga temple in Vijayawada on April 13.
The groom’s family decided to organise a formal ceremony to celebrate the marital union and the bride’s family was also invited. But her mother and relatives, identified as Padmavati, Charan Kumar, Chandu, and Nakka Bharat came into this ceremony and threw chilli powder before attempting to kidnap her. The attempt was eventually thwarted by the groom’s family. It is clear that the bride’s family objected to this marriage but the reason isn’t clear.
