Goods train derails in eastern India, no injuries reported

A freight train derailed in eastern India’s Jharkhand with both of its engines involved in the accident. Fortunately, no injuries or significant damages have been reported.

The incident took place near Lagam, which is situated between Muri and Ranchi stations in Ranchi on September 17.

 

 

Visuals showed a goods train had overturned and fallen onto the tracks, creating a dramatic scene. The derailed train was sprawled across the railway line, with its heavy, twisted metal components lying in disarray. A large crowd of people had gathered at the site, including emergency responders and railway officials.

 

In a recent train accident near Ranchi, both engines of a freight train derailed between Muri and Ranchi stations, with one engine overturning and the other coming off the tracks. The incident occurred near Lagam, about 10 kilometers from Muri station. The local police reported no casualties or property damage as a result of the accident.

The train, which had delivered goods to a Hindalco plant in Muri from Lohardaga, was returning empty when the derailment happened. The site of the accident falls under the South Eastern Railways division. According to DSP Ranveer Singh, the incident did not affect any train routes and no injuries were sustained by anyone involved.

Railway officials have started an investigation to determine the cause of the derailment. A committee has been formed to look into the details of the incident and provide a report. Despite the disruption, train services in the area remain unaffected.
