In a chaotic incident in southern India Madhya Pradesh, three wagons of a goods train carrying petroleum products derailed near a railway yard, leading to fuel theft by locals.
The incident took place in Ratlam district on October 3.

Visuals showed the wagons of the train collapsed on the railway tracks during the dark hours. The administration was seen monitoring the condition of the wagons. The next morning, locals arrived with cans to steal diesel from the wrecked wagons, which remained scattered on the tracks.

According to reports, the derailment happened near a railway yard on the Delhi-Mumbai route while the wagons were being transported to Bakania-Bhauri near Bhopal from Rajkot. Officials stated that the wagons jumped off the track near E Cabin, approximately one kilometer from Ratlam railway station, around 10 p.m.

Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Ratlam, Rajnish Kumar, has ordered an investigation into the derailment. Public Relations Officer Khemraj Meena added that traffic on the down line for trains to Ujjain and Kota has been restored.
