In a grand display of devotion, the Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Devi Temple in southern India’s Andhra Pradesh has adorned Goddess Vasavi with USD 399,600 (₹3.33 crores) as part of the Sharannavaratri celebrations. Devotees are flocking to witness the opulent decoration.

 

The incident took place at Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Devi Temple located in Amalapuram, within the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema District on October 7.

Visuals showed the temple of Goddess Vasavi was adorned with a breathtaking display of currency notes, creating an atmosphere of grandeur and devotion. Every corner of the temple, from the main mandapam to the outer premises, was covered in meticulously arranged notes, shining under the soft glow of temple lights. The goddess herself was dressed in a magnificent robe of currency, with intricate patterns made from notes that cascaded down like a flowing gown. The sight of the goddess surrounded by wealth was both awe-inspiring and symbolic, representing prosperity and devotion. The entire decoration, skillfully done, created an aura of sacredness and beauty, captivating the devotees who flocked to witness this unique and lavish spectacle.

 

As part of the ongoing Sharannavaratri celebrations, the Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Devi Temple has drawn attention with a lavish decoration of  USD 399,600 (₹3.33 crores) in currency notes for Goddess Mahalakshmi. The temple administrators, who have been following this tradition for years, adorned not only the goddess but also the Ammavari Mukha Mandapam and the entire temple premises with money.

 

What began with ₹9 lakhs in previous years has now escalated to a staggering USD 399,600 (₹3.33 crores), with devotees flocking from nearby villages to witness the “Mother of Wealth” in her unique form. Each day during the Sharannavaratri celebrations, a new theme of decoration is introduced, but today’s Mahalakshmi decoration stands out as a symbol of prosperity and devotion.

 

The temple is witnessing an influx of devotees eager to receive blessings from the beautifully decorated Vasavi Mata, while the temple administrators ensure that this unique tradition continues to captivate visitors.
