A shocking late-night incident in northern India’s Punjab,a young girl under the influence of drugs, igniting widespread criticism of the Punjab government’s handling of the drug crisis.

The incident took place in Amritsar city and the video went viral on June 24.

Visuals showed the girl behaving and moving in abnormal postures late at night and then giving weird looks to onlookers although she looked highly drugged.

According to reports, the unfortunate event highlights the failure of the AAP government to tackle the rampant drug problem in the state. Critics accuse the government of not only failing to eliminate drugs, as promised within three months of coming to power, but also allege direct involvement of AAP MLAs and MPs in the drug trade.

Residents and political commentators argue that the drug mafia has grown stronger under the current administration, leading to a devastating impact on Punjab’s youth. The escalating crisis has fueled a demand for urgent action and accountability from the state government, as the youth of Punjab continues to suffer from the pervasive influence of drugs.
