Gang war in northern India in broad daylight: multiple rounds fired
by ShravyaIn a shocking incident of gang violence in northern India’s Bihar, two men were shot in broad daylight, causing panic in the area.
The incident took place near the Kali Temple on NMCH Road in the Alamganj area of Patna on June 3.
Visuals showed two men were riding a bike when three men on another bike approached them. The three attackers dismounted and shot the two men. After being injured, both victims managed to flee the scene. The people nearby, terrified by the incident, also ran away in fear.
The victims have been identified as Suraj Gop and Lallu Kumar, residents of the Mangal Talab Deira locality in the Chowk police station area.
The incident occurred near the Kali Temple on NMCH Road in the Alamganj police station area. According to reports, Suraj Gop, a known criminal with numerous cases registered against him, was on his way to the Patna City Civil Court on a bike with his friend Lallu Kumar for a court appearance. As they approached the temple, they were ambushed by armed assailants on motorcycles who opened fire, leaving both men seriously injured.
In the immediate aftermath, both victims were rushed to NMCH for treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, Suraj was later transferred to a private hospital for better care. Lallu’s mother, unable to speculate on the motives behind the attack, has demanded strict action against the perpetrators.
Patna City Assistant Superintendent of Police, Sarath R.S., confirmed that the attack was a result of gang rivalry and assured that efforts are underway to identify and arrest the attackers. The police have launched an extensive search operation, collecting seven empty bullet casings and one live cartridge from the scene.
