Visuals shot on March 1 showed the two students working on their innovation. The product looks just like any other ordinary pair of jeans. But the specialty of it lies in its button. There’s a small switch attached with the jeans button, which after being pressed twice, will send a distress signal to an emergency contact number, registered with the device and the police. An emergency call is made from the user’s phone to the alternate phone number and the students demonstrated this entire process.
Along with the call, an SOS message is also sent to the alternate contact number which will have the location of the user. Before using this device, an application has to be installed and the devices need to be connected. Along with the smart jeans, the students have also made a ‘smart purse.’
The students say that they want to price this product below Rs 400-500 (USD 4.89- 6.11) so that women can easily afford this.
