A four-floor slum tenement in western India’s Maharashtra resulting in serious injuries to three individuals.

The incident took place at Jarimari, Sakinaka, Mumbai on July 14.

Visuals showed a four-floor building had collapsed, and rescue teams were working to extract trapped individuals from the rubble. Debris was scattered everywhere, creating a scene of utter destruction. Crowds had gathered around the site, adding to the chaos and confusion. The atmosphere was tense and frantic, with people anxiously awaiting news of the rescue and fearing for the safety of their neighbors.

According to reports the collapse has left three individuals seriously injured, and they are currently receiving medical treatment.

The structure, which housed numerous families, gave way unexpectedly, causing panic and chaos in the densely populated neighborhood. Emergency response teams rushed to the scene to rescue trapped residents and provide immediate medical assistance to the injured.

The collapse has raised concerns about the safety of similar structures in the area. Guardian Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha had visited the region and directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to demolish another precarious three-floor slum tenement. The directive was given to prevent such disasters and ensure the safety of residents living in structurally unsound buildings.
