Forest team rescues hog deer from flooded area, highlights heroic efforts in northeastern India
In a remarkable rescue operation, the Assam Forest Team from Karbi Anglong saved a hog deer trapped in water hyacinth and slush in northeastern India’s Assam.
The incident took place in Kaziranga national park on July 2.
Visuals showed the rescuer trying to get back life into the deer by shaking its hind limbs constantly and trying to hear its breathing.
According to reports, the distressed animal was brought to Bagori at 3 AM in an exhausted condition. A vet on-site assured that the deer would recover after receiving immediate treatment. It was then decided to release the deer into the Bagori infirmary, specifically created for flood-affected animals.
Additionally, the Assam Forest Team’s efforts did not stop there. Yesterday alone, they rescued five hog deer from various life-threatening situations. This incident showcases the dedication and heroism of the frontline staff, who often go unnoticed during crises.
