Forest department officials rescue Nilgai after it falls into muddy pit in central India
A nilgai was rescued by members of the forest department after it had fallen into a muddy pit in central India’s Madhya Pradesh.
This incident happened in Kishanpur village in Sagar district on January 8.
Visuals showed the officials rescuing the nilgai from the pit that it had fallen into. The animal seemed stuck inside the mud and the rescuers put a rope around its horns to pull it out. After several attempts and a lot of effort, the animal was pulled out of the pit by the officials of the forest department. It was subsequently released into the wild.
According to a report, the nilgai had strayed into the village and were chased away by the stray dogs. While escaping, it fell into the muddy pit and some village boys noticed this and informed the forest department about the same. The officials subsequently arrived at the spot and rescued the animal.
