A “Flying Man” dazzled the audience at a Tech Summit in Bangalore with a remarkable jet suit powered by seven mini jet engines on November 20. The aerial performer Issa Kalfon, 23, became the focal point of excitement and awe at the historic Bangalore Palace.

The Flying Man showcased incredible skills, effortlessly soaring through the air in his state-of-the-art jet suit designed by the UK-based Gravity Industries. Spectators watched in amazement as he hovered above them, demonstrating the power and precision of cutting-edge technology. With each graceful manoeuvre, he defied gravity, creating a thrilling spectacle that left the audience breathless.

Equipped with two mini jet engines on each arm and three on his back, the jet suit operates on a unique combination of jet fuel and air, delivering an astonishing 1,000 horsepower. This remarkable technology allows the Flying Man to hover for up to seven hours, reach speeds exceeding 85 mph, and ascend to altitudes of 12,000 feet.

The performer, who has been flying professionally for three years, described this as his first solo flight in India, promising to entertain throughout the three days of the summit. His passion for flight and commitment to innovation shone through, making his performance a highlight of the event.

The jet suit unveiled in 2017 has potential applications beyond entertainment, including search-and-rescue missions and extreme sports.
