Five children drown in deep waters at dam in northern India

In a tragic incident at a Dam in northern India’s Rajasthan, five children ventured into deep waters of a dam.

The incident took place at Kanota Dam in Jaipur and the video went viral on August 16.

Visuals showed a dam, swollen with rainwater, surged with a powerful current as five children played and bathed near the edge. Suddenly, the children began to struggle, drowning as they fought against the relentless force of the water. Their desperate attempts to escape were futile; the flow was too strong.

Two young men noticed the situation and rushed to help. Though they couldn’t do much due to the fierce current, they stayed close, trying to offer some assistance. Some of the children were losing hope, being dragged under by the water, while a few others, summoning all their strength, tried to make it to the safety of the shore.

Meanwhile, a crowd had gathered at a safe distance, watching the unfolding tragedy. Despite the horrifying scene, no one from the onlookers stepped forward to help, leaving the children to struggle against the overwhelming force of the dam’s waters alone.
