In a courageous rescue operation, firefighters in eastern India’s Odisha successfully evacuated a senior citizen and a child from the first floor of a residential building engulfed in flames and smoke at the Reserve Police Lines.

The incident took place in Dhenkanal district on July 18.

Visuals showed a rescue team official carrying the child on his shoulders and bringing him down using a ladder.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the fire broke out unexpectedly, trapping the residents inside.

The firefighters, displaying exceptional bravery, navigated through intense fire and thick smoke to reach the trapped individuals. Despite the challenging conditions, the rescue team managed to safely evacuate both the senior citizen and the child, ensuring their safety.

Local authorities praised the firefighters’ quick response and heroic efforts in preventing a potential tragedy. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
