In a remarkable display of quick thinking and compassion, a firefighter from southern India’s Tamil Nadu revived a crow that was electrocuted after landing on a power transformer. The incident has touched many hearts, showcasing the firefighter’s dedication to saving lives—human or otherwise.

Visuals showed a firefighter carefully holding the electrocuted crow in his hands, its limp body showing no signs of life. With determined focus, he began administering CPR, gently pressing his hands against the bird’s small chest in rhythmic compressions. After a few moments, he leaned forward, placing his mouth over the crow’s beak and breathed life into it, repeating the process with great care. The tension was palpable as he worked tirelessly, his every movement filled with urgency. Finally, a faint twitch—just a small flutter—indicated success. The crow stirred slightly, its wings quivering as signs of life slowly returned.

 

Fireman Driver Velladurai demonstrated remarkable life-saving skills when a crow, electrocuted after perching on a power transformer, fell unconscious near the fire station.

 

 

Speaking to Newslions Velladurai, Fireman Driver of Kavundampalayam, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu informed upon noticing the lifeless bird, Velladurai sprang into action. The bird had no pulse, prompting him to perform CPR—a technique typically used for humans. With a combination of chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, the firefighter managed to restore the crow’s pulse. After a few tense moments, the crow revived and was placed in a shady area to recover before flying away to safety.

 

This act of kindness, where the firefighter went to extraordinary lengths to save the life of a crow, has left the local community moved. The incident highlights the commitment of firefighters to protect all forms of life, earning Velladurai immense respect for his compassion and courage.
