Firecracker chaos turns wedding celebration into fiery ordeal
A festive wedding procession in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh took a dangerous turn when firecrackers ignited a car, leaving it destroyed. Remarkably, no injuries were reported, though the incident narrowly avoided a fatal outcome.
The incident took place in Gandevad, Fatehpur police station area of Saharanpur district on November 23.
Visuals showed a young man enthusiastically bursting firecrackers from the sunroof of a car during the wedding procession. In a shocking twist, a spark from the firecrackers landed on the vehicle, causing it to catch fire. Within moments, the car was engulfed in flames, ultimately reducing it to ashes. A quick-thinking bystander displayed immense courage, wrapping his jacket over his mouth to shield himself from the smoke as he rushed to rescue the young man trapped inside the burning car. The young man was successfully pulled to safety, narrowly escaping what could have been a tragic incident.
According to reports, authorities have confirmed that no injuries were reported. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers of using fireworks in crowded or unsafe settings.
