Fire engulfs police station in northern India amid rising temperatures, no casualties reported

In a sudden blaze a Police Station in northern India’s Delhi fell victim to a fierce fire, adding to the increasing incidents of fire outbreaks amidst soaring temperatures.

 

The incident took place at Kashmere Gate Police Station in Delhi on June 1.

Visuals showed at the police station, a terrifying fire blazed fiercely. Flames shot up high and spread rapidly, casting thick smoke all around. People nearby were in a frenzy, shouting and running about. The station, once orderly, was now chaotic and filled with smoke, and items had turned to ash.

 

 According to information obtained from the fire department, they received notification of the fire around 12:45 am. Responding swiftly, approximately twelve fire brigade vehicles rushed to the Kashmiri Gate Metro Police Station, where the fire had already engulfed large portions of the premises. Firefighters immediately commenced their efforts to contain the blaze, enduring a strenuous two-hour battle before finally gaining control.

 

An official from the fire department highlighted the gravity of the situation, noting that the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Metro’s office was also located within the vicinity where the fire erupted. Thankfully, the fire was extinguished before spreading further.

 

Despite the successful containment, extensive damage was observed throughout the station, with items ranging from the record room to barricades consumed by the flames. The current situation depicts charred remnants scattered across the station premises, emphasizing the intensity of the blaze.
