Fire breaks out in pharmaceutical company in southern India, no injuries reported
A fire broke out at a pharmaceutical company in southern India’s Andhra Pradesh causing tension among employees, workers, and nearby residents. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the incident occurred during the lunch break when all staff members were in the canteen.
The incident took place at Saraca Laboratories Limited in the Pydibhimavaram industrial zone of Srikakulam district on June 29.
Visuals showed thick smoke billowing out of the factory, spreading all around after a devastating fire broke out. Black smoke enveloped the area, creating a dense, dark cloud. Firefighters were present at the scene, working diligently to bring the blaze under control.
According to sources, the fire started after a reported blast in the reactor, leading to thick smoke engulfing the entire area. Swift action was taken by the company management, who utilized fire fighting equipment to control the blaze. Nearby pharmaceutical companies also contributed equipment to help extinguish the flames. The fire service department supported the efforts and successfully restored normalcy on the premises.
Etcherla MLA N. Eswara Rao and former MLA Gorle Kirankumar, along with others, visited the site to inquire about the incident. The company management assured that all necessary measures were promptly taken to handle the situation and ensure safety.
