Fatal collision in western India: speeding car plows into bikers
A devastating tragedy unfolded in western India’s Maharashtra, as a speeding car careened into a group of bikers, leaving a trail of destruction and claiming two lives.
The incident took place in Cyber Chowk in Kolhapur city on June 3.
Visuals showed cyber intersection, vehicles were seen moving slowly, a car came at a high speed and hit two people who died on the spot and three others were reported to be seriously injured.
Reports indicate that the accident, which occurred around 2 pm, involved four individuals and caused extensive damage to three two-wheelers and a car. Eyewitnesses recount a horrific scene, with one biker ejected a considerable distance due to the impact.
Initial investigations suggest that the driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the catastrophic collision.
The severity of the accident prompted a swift response from authorities, with Rajarampuri police and city traffic branch personnel rushing to the scene to assist the injured and manage traffic congestion.
The injured victims have been rushed to CPR Hospital for urgent medical attention, while efforts are underway to alleviate the gridlock caused by the accident. The incident has drawn a large crowd of onlookers, with the shocking footage captured by CCTV cameras further amplifying the gravity of the situation.
Tragically, two individuals succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while three others remain hospitalised in critical condition.
