Fatal bus accident claims woman’s life in western India, leaves child seriously injured
A tragic accident involving a State Transport Corporation bus and a bike has resulted in the death of a woman and left a one-year-old child with severe injuries in western India’s Maharashtra.
The incident took place near Manor in Palghar on April 14.
Visuals showed a husband and wife, along with their two children, riding on a bike, navigating through the streets. Suddenly, a bus appeared in front of them, forcing the bike rider to swerve to avoid a collision. Unfortunately, the wife and one of the children ended up underneath the bus, trapped and injured. Surrounding bystanders quickly gathered, creating a crowd around the accident site.
In Palghar, a dreadful accident occurred when a bus of the State Transport Corporation struck a woman who was on a bike with her husband. As a result of this impact, the woman lost her life, and a one-year-old child sustained severe injuries. The incident took place near Manor.
The woman who lost her life in the accident is identified as Sonal Lokhande, aged 30. Sonal Lokhande, along with her husband and two children, was riding the bike when the State Transport Corporation bus, traveling from Palghar to Vikramgad, hit them with force, resulting in a horrific accident in the vicinity of Manor market area on Monday morning.
They were immediately admitted to a rural hospital in Manor for treatment. However, Sonal Lokhande succumbed to her injuries during treatment. Her one-year-old son, Tanish Lokhande, who was seriously injured, has been transferred to a hospital in Silvassa for further treatment. Sonal Lokhande, the deceased in the accident, was the Sarpanch of the Govade-Netali Gram Panchayat in Palghar.
