Family welcomes newborn daughter in a helicopter in western India
Parents of a newborn girl, the first daughter in the family, arranged for a helicopter to take her home in western India’s Maharashtra
The incident took place on April 2 near Chakan town in Pune district.
Visual showed a helicopter waiting as a man gets down holding the baby. He then hands over the newborn to another man, the girl’s father, who holds her carefully and gets inside a car. Several people, mostly elderly women, surround the car to get a glimpse of the baby.
According to reports, Pune based Vishal Zarekar arranged for the grand entry of his daughter, Rajlaxmi, who was born on January 22.
The toddler and her mother, Rohini, had been living with the latter’s parents since the time of Rajlaxmi’s birth.
The chopper ride cost Rs 1 lakh (USD 1,321).
Vishal told Newslions that he thought of this idea since no one had implemented it so far to welcome a girl child- in a country where many parents still prefer sons.
