Family in vehicle suffers accident leaving multiple members critically injured
A family traveling in a vehicle met with a horrendous accident that claimed the lives of four people and left four others wounded.
The incident took place on the Addanki-Narkatpally highway near Brahmanpalli in Palnadu district in Andhra Pradesh, southern India on December 7.
Visuals show a silent, empty road in the afternoon, devoid of traffic or activity, when suddenly, a speeding car veers off course and crashes into a tree, leaving the vehicle mangled. Locals, alarmed by the loud impact, rushed to the scene to assist the injured.
According to reports, the crash occurred near Geethika School, resulting in the tragic deaths of four individuals: Tullur Suresh, Vanitha, Yogulu, and Venkateswar, all residents of Siripuram in Kavali mandal. The group had been returning from a temple visit in Telangana early Sunday.
Police confirmed that the driver fell asleep at the wheel, leading to the fatal crash. Four injured passengers, identified as U Pranay, Adilakshmi, Srinivas Rao, and Kaushalya, were taken to a government hospital in Piduguralla for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were moved to Gurajala Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
Local law enforcement, including Palnadu district SP K Srinivasa Rao, inspected the site alongside senior officials to determine further details about the incident.
