Elephant gets trapped as its head gets stuck in barricade while attempting to cross

An elephant was trapped when its head got stuck in a barricade while trying to cross on its way to the forest.

The incident took place in Thithimathi, Gonikoppa, Kodagu in southern India’s Karnataka on January 16.

Visuals captured a pachyderm struggling to free its head, which was wedged in a barricade. Another elephant stood nearby, watching the scene unfold. After some time, the second elephant stepped in to help, using its head to push against the barricade in an attempt to release its companion.

After a long effort, the trapped elephant finally freed its head and quickly made its way into the jungle.

Speaking to Newslions, Range Forest officer Devraju said that the elephant did not sustain any injuries during the incident.
