Elephant chases away people after straying into residential area in southern India
An elephant created quite a ruckus after it strayed into a residential area and chased away people in southern India’s Andhra Pradesh.
This happened in Singara Peta area of Gudipala mandal in Chittoor district of the state on August 31.
Visuals showed the people running away to save their lives as the elephant chased them away in this area. The pachyderm charged at the residents of the area, forcing them to flee and evacuate the space. Men, women and even children were seen running away with all their might, even with some people having sticks in their hands. Later, the elephant was seen being taken away from the area by forest department which deployed the use of trained pachyderms.
According to a report, the forest department officials swung into action after receiving information and tamed this pachyderm with the help of trained elephants. Then it was tied to the forest department’s elephants with the help of a rope and taken away from the place, much to the relief of the locals. Fortunately, there wasn’t any loss of life in this incident.
