Elderly son takes 92-year-old mother to Mahakumbh on handcart
In a heartwarming journey, a 65-year-old son is taking his 92-year-old mother to Mahakumbh for a holy dip on a handcart, which he pulls himself.
The pilgrimage began in Muzaffarnagar city and will end in Prayagraj, in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, covering approximately 470 miles. They aim to complete the journey in 13 days and its video went viral on January 29.
Visuals show the man enthusiastically pulling the cart while his elderly mother sits on it. The cart is decorated with banners featuring Hindu gods and orange flags on both sides. Onlookers are seen recording videos of the son’s touching gesture.
According to sources, Chaudhary Sudesh Pal Malik, the son, reportedly damaged his knees 25 years ago and had faced difficulty in walking. He believes his condition has improved due to his mother’s blessings. He is taking her for a holy bath at Mahakumbh as a way of repaying his gratitude.
