Elderly pedestrian fatally struck in western India’s hit-and-run incident
In a tragic incident highlighting the dangers of speed driving, an elderly pedestrian was struck and killed by a speeding car in Malkapur, Buldhana. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, showing the horrifying moment when the car ran over the old man, who died instantly at the scene.
The incident took place at National Highway 53 near Hotel Yadgar in Malkapur, a town in the Buldhana district on July 1.
Visuals showed that the elderly Isam, who was involved in the accident, was literally thrown into the air like a football after being hit by a speeding four-wheeler. The driver initially stopped the vehicle, surveyed the situation, and then absconded, leaving the victim without any assistance.
Buldhana police are actively searching for the driver. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the hit car belongs to the state of Gujarat.
The person died on the spot due to severe head injuries in the accident. The name of the deceased is Namdev Tukaram Kavale (age 58) and he belongs to Mauje Kund Bu of Malkapur Taluk. In the preliminary investigation, it was found that the residents and the village police were Patil.
