Elderly man seriously injured as railway crossing bar strikes him in northern India
A 60-year-old man sustained severe injuries when a railway crossing bar unexpectedly struck him while he was riding pillion on a motorcycle in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.
The incident took place at Ghurpur area of Yamunanagar district in Prayagraj on April 9.
Visuals showed a sudden collapse of the railway crossing gate resulted in a motorcycle rider being struck on the head by the falling barrier. As a consequence, he fell down, injured, and lay sprawled on the ground. A crowd quickly gathered around him, offering assistance and support.
According to reports an elderly person riding pillion on a motorcycle suddenly fell off as the crossing bar of railway gate number 424 hit him. He was seriously injured. Nearby people immediately took him to the CHC Jasra, where after initial treatment, he was referred to Prayagraj.
The injured is identified as Ram Bahadur, a 60-year-old resident of Katra Ubhari Gaon in the Ghurpur Thana area, who was going towards Gauhania on a bike. As soon as he reached the railway crossing, the railway crossing gate fell on his head suddenly, causing him serious injuries. Local people admitted the injured elderly person to the community health center in Jasra.
