Eight rescued as car gets stuck in river in western India floodwaters
A car carrying eight people became stranded in the swollen Kalubhar River in western India’s Gujarat following continuous heavy rainfall. Local residents acted swiftly to rescue all occupants, preventing a potential tragedy.
The incident took place at Kalubhar River and the video went viral on August 28.
Visuals showed a car slowly sinking into a flooded river, its wheels partially submerged as the water level rises dangerously high. The current is swift and powerful, pushing against the vehicle, making it tilt slightly as it starts to submerge deeper into the water. Nearby, a few people are standing on the riverbank, watching the scene unfold. They are holding umbrellas, trying to shield themselves from the continuous downpour, their faces filled with concern and urgency as the rain continues to pour heavily around them. The sky is overcast, and the atmosphere is tense with the relentless sound of rain and rushing water.
Heavy rains in the region led to the Kalubhar River overflowing its banks, trapping a car with eight people inside. The vehicle was caught in the rising floodwaters, putting the passengers at serious risk. Acting quickly and bravely, local villagers came together and managed to save all eight individuals before the situation could worsen. The timely intervention of the local community ensured everyone was brought to safety, highlighting the importance of community solidarity during natural disasters.
