Drug smuggling racket busted in western India as 2 pound MD drugs found in tyres
In a significant drug bust in western India’s Gujarat, the Crime Branch department has intercepted a smuggling operation involving MD drugs hidden inside vehicle tyres.
The incident occurred in the Sarkhej area of Ahmedabad on September 12.
Visuals showed officials closely monitoring the removal of the inner tubes from the tyres. The drugs, carefully wrapped in plastic and tape, were extracted during the operation.
According to reports, the Ahmedabad Crime Branch conducted multiple raids in the Sarkhej area after receiving information about a large quantity of MD drugs concealed there. During the operation, two suspects were apprehended. Officials seized around one kilogram of MD drugs worth approximately one crore in the international market. The drugs are believed to have entered Ahmedabad through multiple channels, and investigations are underway to trace the source of the drugs and those involved in the delivery process.
