Drone rescue operation unfolds to capture tiger on loose in India
In a dramatic rescue operation in central India’s Chhattisgarh, forest department officials successfully tracked and rescued a wandering tiger using drones and tranquilizer darts.
The incident took place near Kasdol city, approximately 90 km east of Raipur district on November 26.
Visuals showed the tiger roaming an open, desolate field while drones, both standard and thermal, provided real-time updates on its movements.
The tiger had reportedly strayed from Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary, covering a significant distance through Kot village towards Kasdol town, creating tense moments for locals and officials alike.
Speaking to Newsliions, Mayank Agrawal, Divisional Forest Officer of Baloda Bazar, stated they had received information about the tiger’s movements around 7 a.m. Two teams swiftly converged on the identified area from different directions. He mentioned that their main priority was ensuring the safety of both the tiger and the people.
With the support of a dedicated team of two veterinarians, the tiger was finally tranquilized and safely relocated. Scores of curious onlookers had gathered during the operation, but the rescue was executed with precision, preventing harm to the majestic wild animal.
