Dramatic footage captures moment landslide strikes hamlet in northern India

by Anjali ChoudhuryFear gripped locals after they witnessed a landslide in northern India’s Uttarakhand on February 28. The incident took place in Sari village in Rudraprayag district.
Visuals feature a massive landslide occurring in broad daylight while debris and boulders from the mountains keep rolling down the cliff. After a while, the rocks and dirt from the hills get accumulated down below.
At least 22 families were evacuated after the sudden landslide and brought to safety. To avoid any threat to their lives, they will be staying in the disaster management center, while their belongings would be handed over to them after the evacuation.
