Dramatic blaze engulfs general store in western India, firefighters respond swiftly
In a dramatic incident in western India’s Maharashtra, a fire broke out in a general store, prompting the swift evacuation of nearby residents.
The incident took place at Agarwal General Stores, opposite Pune Railway Station in Wilson Garden of Pune city on October 4.
Visuals showed a massive blaze engulfing the entire store, with flames raging furiously and smoke billowing into the air. Firefighters battled to bring the inferno under control while distressed locals gathered to witness the aftermath of the destruction. The scene was chaotic, with firefighters entering the store to assess the damage, as valuable goods were left in ruins amidst the remnants of the fire.
According to reports, the fire erupted around 4:30 AM, and the Pune Municipal Corporation’s Fire Department promptly dispatched two fire engines and two water tankers. Their quick response ensured the fire was contained, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. Residents of the lodge above the store were safely rescued by the fire brigade, who acted swiftly to evacuate everyone without harm. While the cause of the fire remains unknown, local authorities are currently investigating the incident to gather further details.
