Dozens of snakes rescued and released in forest by local snake catcher in central India
In central India’s Madhya Pradesh, the frequent appearance of snakes in homes and shops has caused widespread concern.
The incident took place in Sagar district on September 1.
Visuals showed Baba carefully handling the captured snakes, placing them into secure bags before loading them onto a truck. The truck, filled with the writhing reptiles, was then driven deep into the forest, where Baba carefully released them into their natural habitat. As soon as the bags were untied, the snakes quickly slithered away into the underbrush, returning to the wild.
Snake catcher Akil Baba, a local hero, has been at the forefront of safely rescuing these reptiles. On Sunday, Baba captured and released two dozen snakes, including dangerous species like cobras, pythons, and common kraits, into a nearby forest.
Baba’s efforts not only save the lives of the snakes but also protect the local community from potential danger. His work has significantly reduced the fear and panic that usually accompanies snake sightings, providing a vital service that benefits both humans and wildlife.
