Doctor brutally beaten after asking visitors to remove footwear in emergency ward in western India

In a shocking incident in western India Gujarat, a doctor was allegedly beaten by three individuals after requesting them to remove their footwear before entering the emergency ward.

The incident occurred at Shreya Hospital in Sihor town of Bhavnagar district on September 12.

Visuals showed a heated exchange between the doctor and the accused, as a patient lay on a stretcher. The argument escalated quickly, leading to the accused attacking the doctor. They also caused damage to medicines and other equipment in the room. The patient attempted to intervene but could not stop the assault.

According to reports, the three accused were arrested two days after the incident. The men, who arrived with a woman suffering a head injury, became enraged when the doctor requested them to remove their shoes. The First Information Report (FIR) filed in the case states that they verbally abused the doctor and staff before physically assaulting him.

Dr. Jaideepsinh Gohil, 33, sustained injuries in the attack, and the accused even issued death threats. Hiren Dangar, Bhavdeep Dangar, and Kaushik Kuvadiya have been arrested under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for their actions.
