In a disturbing incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh a former professor of a medical university, was assaulted following the death of a patient during treatment.

The incident took place at Ignis Hospital in the Gomti Nagar Extension Police Station area in Lucknow city on July 24.
 
Visuals showed the violent confrontation, showing the doctor being beaten by enraged individuals. The scene was chaotic, with hospital staff and bystanders trying to intervene.
According to reports, the altercation occurred after the patient, whose details have not been disclosed, passed away under Dr. Dev’s care. Dr. Ravi Dev was reportedly a former professor at King George’s Medical University (KGMU).

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. Police are reviewing the CCTV footage and gathering statements to understand the full extent of the altercation. The situation has raised concerns about safety and protocol in medical facilities.

Reportedly, there a girl had accused him of rape, after which action was also taken. However, Dr. Ravi Dev had termed the girl’s allegations as baseless. He said that the girl was willingly in a live-in relationship. The authorities are investigating the matter.
