Distressing incident unfolds in northern India as girl students forced to clean toilets in school
In a troubling incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, two female students were caught on video cleaning toilets in their school instead of attending classes.
The incident took place in Gargaiya Primary School in Bareilly district and the video went viral on October 4.
Visuals showed the students in uniform, one holding a broom and the other carrying a bucket. The students mentioned that they were ordered to do this work by the school principal.
According to reports, the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) took immediate action after the video went viral. BSA Sanjay Singh sought a detailed report from the Block Education Officer (BEO) of Damkhoda on the entire situation, promising to take appropriate steps based on the findings. He assured that action would be taken against the responsible principal following the investigation.
