In Agra’s Belanganj locality, a decades-old, dilapidated building on Sekseriya College Road collapsed unexpectedly on Thursday. Fortunately, the building was unoccupied at the time, and no one was injured in the incident. The collapse occurred after heavy rainfall on Wednesday, which may have weakened the structure. The building, which had been abandoned, stood next to another structure that had been demolished earlier, leaving a vacant plot beside it. The side wall of the dilapidated building began to shake before suddenly collapsing, striking the neighboring building.
A bystander recorded the collapse on video, which has since gone viral on social media. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of several other aging and unstable buildings in the Belanganj area, many of which are still inhabited despite their deteriorating condition.
