Devoted dog’s heartbreaking farewell unfolds in western India as he stays by Ratan Tata’s coffin in a show of unwavering love
In a deeply emotional moment in western India’s Maharashtra, Ratan Tata’s devoted companion, his dog ‘Goa,’ stood unwavering by his side during the funeral, refusing to part with his beloved owner even in death.
The heart-wrenching incident took place at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai city on October 10.
Visuals showed ‘Goa’ nestled close to the coffin, his loyalty unshaken as mourners gathered to bid farewell. Despite gentle efforts to lead him away, the faithful dog refused to leave his master’s side, his grief palpable to all who witnessed the scene.
According to reports, ‘Goa’ was more than just a pet. Rescued by Tata during a trip to Goa, the dog became his constant companion, sharing his office at Bombay House, the headquarters of the Tata Group. Tata, who passed away at 86 after a brief illness, was admired for his philanthropy and leadership, but it was his deep love and bond with animals, especially with ‘Goa,’ that captured the hearts of many.
